Hiking
Here are two proposals to discover the natural and socio-historical environments of Castellar n'Hug.
They combine nature and history in equal measure!
Castellar de n'Hug – Montgrony Sanctuary - 8.8 Km
Trip to the Shrine of Montgrony without large increases or large decreases over comfortable and easy terrain. It combines pastures and the rounded peaks of the Sierra de Montgrony, the valleys and other nice places of the Ripollès.
The Romanesque architecture of Sant Pere, Santa Maria de Montgrony and Sant Joan de Cornudell are also incentives to do the route.
Backpack, shoes and clothing, food and water is needed.
Castellar de n'Hug - Clot del Moro - Cement Museum - 6.0 Km
Hiking down to the Clot del Moro, following the Castellar de n'Hug’s old road to Pobla de Lillet, close to the course of the Llobregat River. It was the route, that "castellaneses" took every morning in order to go to work at the Asland cement factory, that now houses the Museum of Cement and the station of the touristic Cement Train.
The Romanesque Sant Vicenç de Rus adds more incentives to the route, and a visit to the Museum and Cement Train.
Backpack, shoes and clothing, food and water is needed.
There are taxi services from Clot del Moro to return to Castellar, book them in advance at 93 825 70 16 or 667 563 606.
